SPECIAL OLYMPICS ULSTER - FOUR YEAR MULTI-DEPARTMENTAL FUNDING

McGarry Consulting wrote the first strategy and economic appraisal for Special Olympics Ulster (SOU). This led to a four year £2m+ funding agreement for SOU, the largest ever of its kind for a SO region of its size. This unique package came from five government departments and was possibly the first time ever five NI departments had come together to equally fund a project. Subsequently funding was secured for another five years at similar levels, thanks to McGarry Consulting.

As part of the lobbying and following up for this funding, McGarry Consulting met senior politicians from all sides, and helped managed grassroots support. McGarry Consulting also appeared at committee hearings in Stormont and Leinster House, in support of this bid and as a consequence of their expertise in sport, funding and disability/inclusion.
