Iontabhas na Gaelscolaíochta: Broadway 5-Storey Development

Iontaobhas na Gaelscolaíochta, the Trust Fund for Irish Medium Education, bought a run-down building on the corner of Broadway and Falls Road, a major junction at the heart of the Gaeltacht Quarter in West Belfast. Their intention was to create an iconic building which would be home to Irish language start-ups, businesses and social-economy organisation, in keeping with the aspiration of the area and the desire to rectify and regenerate a major eye-sore. The business plan was on the back of an economic appraisal to help prove the commercial viability of the development and secure funding. Social Investment Funding (SIF) was obtained on the back of the business plan and economic appraisal by McGarry Consulting.
